ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Chromatic.
Codex Edition.

Turn on to play Traveller: San Francisco, Berlin and London. The game stays on the display while you scroll around the device. Turn off to pause; turn on again to continue.

Use the arrow keys to move, A or Z for A, B or X for B, Enter for Start and Shift for Select. J/K also work for A/B. Press Esc or use Game menu to pause and return to city selection from anywhere. Select keeps its original function in each game. On a touchscreen or with a mouse, use the device's front controls. Multiple buttons can be held together.

Save at the checkpoints inside the game. Saved progress stays in this browser on this website, with a separate slot for each city. It is not synced between devices. Clearing site data or closing a private browsing session may remove it. Leaving the tab pauses the game.

Scroll lifts the cartridge, opens the battery cover and separates the three batteries. Reassembly starts at 240°; at 360° everything is back in place. Reverse scrolling follows the same movement.

The front artwork comes from the ModRetro Chromatic plugin and was created from the owner's photographs of the transparent Codex Edition.

The enclosure, separate battery cover, buttons and cartridge use ModRetro's public CAD parts. Official photographs provide some side and edge textures. The batteries, contacts and their housing are custom geometry.

The white Demo Cartridge, its label and the Codex mark on the clear cover are reconstructed from photographs of this device. Markings move with their parts.

This is a visualization of Codex Edition, not a scan of a specific unit. Materials, internal electronics and recreated markings are illustrative. The public CAD parts describe the general Chromatic.
